RBKC sign-off Earls Court

The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea has resolved to grant planning permission to Capital & Counties’ Earls Court plans.

The 20 year regeneration plan straddles the RBKC border with LB Hammersmith & Fulham and aims to deliver 7,500 new homes in the “four villages and a High Street” of Terry Farrell’s masterplan.

It already has approval from Hammersmith & Fuham, but awaits the outcome of a judicial review petition from a group of residents of the Gibbs Green and West Kensington estates.

The estates would be demolished to make way for the scheme, with all tenants rehoused in new homes on the redevelopment, but the residents’ group is challenging the consultation process followed by the council.
