VSM Estates have shown their plans for the RAF Uxbridge site at a public exhibition.
VSM say they are in a position to bring forward and publicise their evolving proposals for the future of the RAF Uxbridge site, following LB Hillingdon's adoption of the RAF Uxbridge Supplementary Planning Document on 22 January 2009.
The plans include up to 40,000 sq m of mixed-use commercial development, and 1,750 new homes. There is also 50 acres of open space, and a new public park alongside the River Pinn. There is a new primary school and funding towards secondary school places, health care and associated infrastructure.
The plans also involve the re-use of the Grade II listed Hillingdon House (pictured) and former cinema building, and the retention of the Grade I listed bunker.
At 110 acres, RAF Uxbridge is the largest development site in West London, and is close to Uxbridge town centre, train station, the Chimes Shopping Centre and the High Street. It has been designated for mixed-use development by the LB Hillingdon.
The proposals were on show in Uxbridge on May 15 and 16, and can now be seen on the VSM website. VSM say they expect to submit a planning application in Autumn 2009.
