VSM Estates’ plans include 1,425 homes, a 1,200 seat theatre, a GP surgery, a primary school, a hotel, 20,000 sqm of commercial space, as well as proposing 47 acres of open space on the 110 acre site. The plans allow for historic features such as the underground bunker and the listed Hillingdon House to remain.
Colin Darby, planning manager at VSM Estates and St Modwen Properties told the Uxbridge Gazette: “The submission of this planning application for the RAF Uxbridge site represents a significant step towards bringing this unique 110-acre site back into long-term community use. We have been working with local groups for over two years to produce a balanced residential-led scheme that includes areas for recreation, entertainment, ecology and landscaping while protecting the sites significant heritage.”
“We believe the outcome is a truly distinctive scheme that will deliver a sustainable mixed-use development in a highly accessible location, benefiting local residents both now and long into the future.”
