R55 has begun construction work has begun on the redevelopment of Minavil House.
The building will become the borough’s tallest tower at 27 storeys, and will contain homes, office space and retail units.
The £63m, 251 home development in the Alperton Housing Zone will offer homes for affordable rent or shared ownership.
The plans aso include a Lidl supermarket and canal-side cafe, as well as workspaces managed by R55 Workspace CIC for local entrepreneurs, artists and creators.
Minavil House is a vacant, two-storey commercial building on the Alperton canalside. Completion is scheduled for 2022.
