Quintain's Wembley City has a new broadband system which also offers digital TV and telephony across a fibre-to-the-home network.
The new service, Velocity1, was shown to the Wembley Times. Instead of using traditional national telecommunications operators, Velocity1 has been built into all new homes at Wembley City.
New residents can activate their phone, digital TV and broadband, with guaranteed speeds from 8mb to 100mb, via a phone call on the day they move in – no further installation is required. So there's no dishes, no line-rental on the telephony, no engineer to wait in for.
Residents can buy bundles of 8mb, 16mb and 32mb. For a 30 minute 100mb boost residents pay £1.
The service also offers a local information tool, which hosts live web feeds, such as information from the Brent council website, a phone directory and service listings.
The service is universal across all the resi units, whether affordable or not.
