There are five rights of way currently on the site which would have to be closed before any building work can start. If the inquiry finds the paths should be left open it could make development more difficult.
The Council is seeking confirmation of an order to extinguish public footpaths on the Dickens Yard site. The public local inquiry will be held at Ealing Town Hall on 30 September to consider the closure of the paths.
The current planning application for Dickens Yard includes proposals for 20 new shop units and 698 new homes. A date for the Planning Committee to consider the application has not yet been set.
