Pub named ACV

A pub in Wandsworth has been recognised as an Asset of Community Value (ACV), meaning local people could buy it to prevent redevelopment.

Wandsworth Council last week decided to grant the Wheatsheaf, in Upper Tooting Road, ACV status, which gives members of the community time to bid to buy the site should it ever come up for sale.

Locals had been worried that a supermarket chain were looking at buying it and turning it in to a store, so they campaigned for an ACV order, which the council has granted.

The council also added The Lodge in Tooting Bec Road to their ACV list.
