Two Park Royal projects are closing on funding from the European Development Fund. They have been invited to enter into contract negotiations with the LDA’s European Office -te next stage in the approval process.
The first, "Sustaining Park Royal’s Business Environment", aims to facilitate job sustainability and job creation on the Park Royal Estate through improving access to employment sites and public realm improvements including creating accessible green spaces, improved lighting and targeted CCTV initiatives. Working with the private sector, it will deliver environmental improvements that are aligned to developments on the Park Royal Industrial Estate to address business crime, and the fear of crime, that impacts on inward investment and employee recruitment and retention.
And the second, the "London Food Innovation & Development Centre", which was a recommendation of the PRP/LDA-funded Grant Thornton study into the food sector’s needs, will pilot an innovation centre and begin to affect the necessary transformational changes required. It will act as an test bed for a physical centre, the development of which is the ultimate goal. The pilot will establish potential economic return on investment, joint venture options with the private sector and the right mix of technical and innovation-led services
