Police Station sell off worries Ealing Council

Ealing Council has expressed concerns about Metropolitan Police plans to sell-off a borough police station.

The Police want to sell the Norwood Green station, in Norwood Road in Southall, and use alternative nearby stations to provide policing services. They wrote to the council 25 June asking for its views on the forces asset management plan, which includes the sell off proposals.

In 2008 the council objected to plans to close the station, and police mothballed the site.  Now police want to sell the station altogether.

The Council’s concerns are related to community safety, and the suitability of the Police’s alternative plans.
