There may not be much change in planning policy despite the changes in political control in West London.
Four of the six Boroughs are now Labour controlled, with Ealing, Hounslow and Harrow all moving from previous Conservative administrations. There had been speculation that this could lead to significant changes in attitude to development and regeneration, but Pat Hayes, Executive Director Regeneration at LB Ealing, said at a conference yesterday “I don’t think there will be any seismic shift in planning. Ealing has always had very strong cross-party political buy-in.”
So far only Brent have announced their portfolio holders, although no change is expected in Hillingdon and Hammersmith, where there was no change of control.
