Park Royal’s Opportunity Area Planning Framework is due for publication, as the local business partnership aims for BID status.
Sir Simon Milton of the GLA, speaking at Place West London on October 14, said that Park Royal’s OAPF is due for publication this week, and will contain a strong focus on retaining employment in an area thought to proide as many as 60,000 jobs.
The 3000 companies on Europe’s largest Industrial Estate will soon have the opportunity to take its improvement into their own hands too, as Park Royal Partnership is working towards establishing a Business Improvement District (BID) for the area. It will be complicated, as there will need to be three separate ballots reflecting the fact that Park Royal spreads across three different London Boroughs – Brent, Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham. But a ‘yes’ from the ballots would provide businesses with the ability to fund improvements to the estate, to navigation and street furniture for example, funded by a levy on all businesses.
