Palais plans set for approval

London & Regional’s plans for the Hammersmith Palais site are set for approval.

The plans for a 418-unit studnetaccomodation complex, the second submitted recently for the site, are recommended for approval.

The first plans, for 429 student units, were rejected by LB Hammersmith & Fulham, a decision subsequently upheld at appeal. The refusal was on design grounds. The new plans, designed by Make, lower the overall height of the development by three metres, and provide new space for entertainment on the lower levels, which could house a health and fitness club, cinema, bowling alley, pool hall or dance hall.
