Catalyst Gateway – the community development arm of Catalyst Housing Limited – held a successful job fair this week at Catalyst’s Ealing Gateway headquarters.
Over 200 people attended the event and were able discuss opportunities with 19 employers and training providers.
There was a wide variety of employment and training options on offer to Catalyst residents, to suit those who wanted to change jobs or gain qualifications, as well as those ready to get straight into work.
Metroline and ASDA advertised jobs as drivers or in warehouses, while the Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College offered training and qualifications. Other businesses, such as Heathrow Academy, Bouygues and Higgins, offered apprenticeships and jobs with an element of training, enabling applicants to break into new areas of work while still earning.
Many of the organisations present are regular partners with Catalyst. Bouygues and Higgins, for example, are contractors on Catalyst’s Havelock and St Bernard’s Gate developments. Also present was GOLDD, a voluntary organisation that Catalyst has worked with on many projects.
The fair also offered visitors clothes to take away, to help them feel their best at interviews. Catalyst staff donated a selection of smart skirts and trousers, shirts and tops, shoes and accessories.
