OSBL buys St Mungo centre

Orion Shepherds Bush have agreed to buy the St Mungo’s homelessness centre next to Shepherds Bush Market, and will allow it to operate there rent free until their redevelopment commences.

The Broadway Centre occupies part of the site required for OSBL’s plans to redevelop the market. St Mungo’s will continue to use it for their “No Second Night Out” project until the regeneration of Shepherd’s Bush Market begins.

When that will be is not clear, after market traders won a Court of Appeal ruling over Compulsory Purchase Orders.

St Mungo’s have upgraded other centres, meaning the Broadway Centre will no longer be needed, and is reported to be positive about the sale, and planning to use the funds to expand their services for homeless people.
