Opportunities across the region continue to gain momentum

More than 200 people from global businesses, UK based developers, leading investors and council representatives will be coming together for the Capital West London Growth Summit 2019.

Following the successful 2018 event, this year’s Growth Summit will take place at the Lyric Hammersmith, in London, on 29 October. The day promises to be an excellent forum for delegates to identify new business opportunities and it will showcase prospects in building homes, infrastructure upgrades and business growth potential across the region.

Eleven West London Opportunity Areas have been identified in the draft London Plan which bring with them the scope to transform the sub-region. The area holds the capacity for 143,000 new jobs to be created along with plans for well over 100,000 new homes to be built.

As the momentum continues to grow, key players and leaders will use the Capital West London Growth Summit to share the vision for growth and set the ground to identify the pipeline programmes and how different stakeholders can gain access to delivering these schemes. During the day there will be a host of keynote speakers, a range of workshops, discussions on West London’s town centres, innovation in industrial property, and the wider plans on delivering homes.

For delegates who will be attending, during lunchtime there will be tours around Hammersmith town centre, a Meet the Planners opportunity to discuss some of the identified sites and a chance to discover the region’s vision for the future.

The Capital West London Growth Summit will be see the launch of WSP’s report in partnership with London First that looks at infrastructure as an enabler for growth. Following a successful round table discussion around the creative industries the event will also see the launch of a Creative Manifesto for West London that celebrates the thriving creative sector economy in the region.

Cllr Julian Bell, of the London Borough of Ealing, who is the Chair of the West London Economic Board, and who will be a keynote speaker at the Capital West London Growth Summit said: “West London’s economic development community will come together for the event and be joined by the national and international investment community, who are interested in the opportunities across the sub-region. I believe it could be a hugely significant moment for the sub-region, marking the time that it steps up to be recognised as the UK’s best business and investment location.”
