Octopus reborn

chiswick roundaboutLondon & Bath have submitted revied plans for their ‘Octopus’ building on Chiswick Roundabout.

The plans for the commercial building, designed by Make, replace those rejected by Hounslow’s planning committee last year on the grounds it would be distracting to motorists on the A4 – the building was to be clad in advertising hoardings. Make have removed the East facing motorway level advertising screen and dropped the height of the building by 3m to address this.

Ken Shuttleworth, the principal at Make told the AJ: “Our revised design has retained its unusual, highly sculptural form but has a far more simple silhouette which we believe to be appropriate for the potential of this gateway location.”
