Oaks appeal refused

A Court of Appeal action brought by local opponents to plans to redevelop THe Oaks shopping centre in Acton has been refused.

The Oaks Action Group had asked for a Judicial Review of Ealing’s decision to grant consent for the scheme, a request denied in 2014, but appealed by the group. The Appeal Judge ruled that changes in the committee prior to the decision had not compromised or biased the decision.

The plans, by the Acton Regeneration Company, will provide 142 new homes, improved open spaces and shops, and 500 jobs.
