Northwood School is to be rebuilt to increase capacity to 900 pupils.
Hillingdon has approved a £28 million, rebuild, with Hillingdon providing £21.6 million, and Central Government funding of £6.4 million. The new school should open in autumn 2016.
The council says work is progressing well on the council’s primary school building programme – the largest of its kind in London – which will create 6,500 additional places across the borough.
Between September 2011 and September 2014 extra facilities and new classrooms are being added to a total of 28 schools, with two new primary schools due to open in September 2014 and a third in September 2015.
