Northala wins Landscape Awards

Northala1_466 Northala Park, the hilly park built with spoil from Wembley and Westfield, has won a Landscape Institute Award.

The Northolt park, which has been so successful and popular since opening that it is considering adding a fifth hill, won the "over five hectare" category at the Landscape Institute Awards.

The park was officially opened in September, and is the largest new park to be created in London in 100 years.

Landscape Institute President Neil Williamson said: “This project demonstrates an holistic approach to design that addresses social, economic and environmental agendas. It pays high regard to community involvement and a sense of pride and demonstrates the value of using a robust concept to inform and guide the design process.”
