Comer Homes have had plans for 1200 homes on the site of the North London Business Park approved after a call in by the Secretary of State.
Barnet Council had refused permission for the scheme on Oakleigh Road in East Barnet in June 2017, with the grounds being its density and height. Comer appealed successfully, and the decision has now been endorsed by housing secretary Robert Jenrick after a call-in.
The first phase of the development will provide 376 new homes in five blocks of up to eight storeys, along with a secondary school, gym and sports facilities. Outline planning permission has also been granted for a further 824 residential units in buildings ranging from two to nine storeys as well as 50,000 sq ft of commersial space and 2.9ha of public open space.
