A planning application is expected this week for the redevelopment the 57-acre New Covent Garden Market site in Wandsworth.
It will provide 2,450 new homes as well as commercial and retail space, alongside a new market site.
Covent Garden Market Authority is expected to submit outline plans for 347,000 sqm of development space as part of the wider regeneration project which includes Battersea Power Station and the new American Embassy.
At the same time, Bouygues with Carlyle Group and St Mowden Properties with Vinci are vying to be the private development partner for the CGMA. A successful bidder is expected to be announced in spring 2012.
