Over the past twelve months, a programme to develop Wembley High Road and The Triangle has been underway, with the latest improvement being a new website.
Brent Council began this initiative by helping 20 small and medium sized businesses on the High Road become digitally-savvy; taking their businesses online to new and existing customers.
As a result, an increasing number of businesses have developed their own digital strategies, making them more accessible online to potential buyers. This has been facilitated with digital skills training and mentoring locally.
After businesses came together to develop their digital skills, it become clear that local traders wanted more help to improve and promote the High Road. As a result, the Wembley High Road Business Association was formed in late 2016; it is this group, led by volunteer local traders and supported by Brent Council, which is building a new sense of place for the high street.
The new website, WHR.London, and accompanying social media accounts are promoting Wembley High Road’s character and business offering to a wider local audience, as well as engaging with the substantial footfall generated by the regular event schedule.
The High Road is already benefiting from improvements to the whole area and major new mixed-use developments, including Wembley Central Square. With the Wembley High Road Business Association now acting as a voice for the area, the future is looking brighter than ever before.
