Hounslow Chamber of Commerce has published a tourism map for Hounslow, which they say is a first for the borough.
Hounslow Borough has probably more brown sign signs promoting places of interest than any other outer London borough, says the Chamber. Their map focuses on the many film locations across the borough, ranging from an advertisement filmed in Hounslow High Street to Osterley House, which is one of the most filmed historic houses in the borough.
There is an exhibition currently running at Osterley House, Real to Reel, charting 50 years of filming at Osterley Park – the stars, the sets and a chance to see behind the scenes. The map will help guide both tourists and local residents to this and many other places of interest.
The Tourism Map is being distributed to hotels, shopping centres and some schools in order to get the message out that Hounslow is a “Hidden Jewel” and a place well worth a stop off between Central London and Heathrow, say the Chamber.
