Hammersmith & Fulham Council is consulting on ideas for the new Sands End Art and Community Centre.
“The closure of the old community centre was a real loss to the area so we’re pleased to be building a new one with residents,” said Cllr Andrew Jones, H&F Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration.
“We’ve been working with residents on the designs and I hope everyone will now come and help shape the centre by giving their views.
“To protect it for the future, the new arts and community centre will be run by a community trust of residents.”
A process is currently underway to appoint a design team to complete design work on the centre. The proposals should be considered by the Planning Committee in October 2017. Subject to approval being granted, a construction contractor will be appointed to start work in late 2017.
H&F Council has secured more than £3 million to fund the design, build and initial running costs of the new centre.
The proposed location is Clancarty Lodge Depot in South Park, Fulham (pictured).
