LB Hounslow wants to rid Hanworth of a local eyesore. It has served a section 215 notice on the owner of the derelict New Moon Public House, Main Street, Hanworth, forcing him to clean up his act.
Despite repeated requests by council officers over the past year, the owner has not carried out the necessary work to clear the waste that blighted the site and make sure that it was secure.
Cllr Peter Thompson, Leader of the council, said: Getting this eyesore cleared is a really good result for local residents, and it should serve as a warning to others who allow their land to get into such a state.
The section 215 notice comes into effect on 1 August and the owner will have three days to comply or face prosecution, or the bill for a Council-conducted clean up.
