Cllr Ian Edwards has been appointed the new Leader of Hillingdon Council. Cllr Edwards, who was elected as a councillor in 2014, has replaced Cllr Sir Ray Puddifoot MBE – the council’s longest serving leader.
In October 2020, Cllr Puddifoot announced his intention to stand down. He will remain a ward member for Ickenham, where he has served as a councillor since 1998, until the next election in May 2022.
Councillor Edwards (pictured top row, left) has named his Cabinet. Cllr Jonathan Bianco (top row, second left) becomes Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Property and Infrastructure, while Cllr Eddie Lavery (bottom row, left) takes the Environment, Housing and Regeneration portfolio. Cllr Douglas Mills (top row, second right) becomes Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and Transformation while Cllr John Riley (bottom row, second right) takes on Public Safety and Transport.
