LB Hounslow could move from their current Lampton Road location to a new civic centre on the Bath Road car park site in the Town Centre.
The recently released masterplan identified the site for a civic facility, and now Cllr Ruth Cadbury has told the Hounslow Chronicle that there is a plan to relocate the council HQ from its Lampton Road site – now considered too large and expensive to run. This would undoubtedly assist the regeneration plans for Hounslow Town Centre as it would put a significant employer on a key site at the western end of the high street.
The present Lampton Road site would presumably be sold for redevelopment to help fund the new build civic centre. Brent Council recently sold their listed town hall to part fund their new civic centre in Wembley City.
