Tom Whiting has been appointed as the interim chief executive of Harrow Council.
He will hold the post until 24 May 2018, after the council elections. Whoever then forms the administration will make a permanent appoitment. Former chief executive Michael Lockwood is now the first director general of the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
Whiting has been at Harrow council for more than a decade. He joined as divisional director strategy & improvement in 2005, progressed to assistant chief executive in 2008 and then to the corporate director of resources from 2013.
