New bus route for Hammersmith

The 228 bus is being introduced on January 17, and will run between Central Middlesex Hospital and Maida Hill, via White City, Shepherds Bush, and the new bus station near Westfield London.

Following major opposition to the bus travelling down TfL's planned route of Steventon Road and Bryony Road, TfL agreed to re-route the bus along Uxbridge Road and Bloemfontein Road.

John Barry, Head of Network Development, London Buses, said: “Route 228 will improve access to schools, hospitals, and places of work in west London and will bring the bus service closer to local residents.”

Single deck buses will operate on the 228, running about every 12 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes during the evenings and on Sundays.
