Neptune sues Ealing

Crossrail_train Neptune Property Services have lodged a suit against Ealing Council for alleged negligence over the purchase of a site now required for a Crossrail station.

Neptune claim Ealing Council failed to warn them that the land of 267 Horn Lane, Acton, could not be developed because it was to be the site of a new ticket hall for the multi-billion pound rail scheme when they conducted a land charge search.

Neptune paid £800,000 for the site in 2006, and had intended to build 14 two-bed apartments and office space, but later found out it would be unable to develop there owing to a “safeguarding direction for Crossrail”.

Neptune seek damages of around £2.6m, including the purchase price and projected future profits,m and interest on the debt.

Ealing Council told the Ealing Times that the matter has been referred to their insurers who are investigating the matter.
