Neptune Point ‘a fortress’

Neptune point Parkridge's Neptune Point development has a 'fortress like' appearance, says the Council, as the plannning inquiry continues.

While Capita and Black Architecture defended the scheme as "appropriate and natural" and capable of raising the quality of the area, LB Harrow said the edge of town centre scheme had "a fortress-like appearance, substantially at odds with the predominant domestic scale and character of development in the area", comments taken from a CABE appraisal of the design. They also expressed concern over the scale of the building and its effect on the skyline. The inquiry continues, and will deliver a verdict within 16 weeks.

Meanwhile Dandara's scheme at the former Post Office just along the road in the Town Centre has had its planning decision deferred.
