Battersea Reach

New flats for affordable home ownership alongside the River Thames, in St Mary’s Park ward, are currently being built by Wandle Housing Association.

Homes for shared ownership in the Battersea Reach development (pictured top), on Juniper Drive, SW18, will be available to purchase on a part-buy, part-rent basis, with existing Wandsworth residents prioritised over buyers from outside the borough.

The 50 new homes are expected to be complete from Spring, 2017.

Cllr Paul Ellis, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “This area down the road from Wandsworth Bridge has been transformed in recent years into an exciting new part of the riverside. By enabling the development of this site and others like it across the borough, the council is helping to ensure the delivery of hundreds of new homes for low cost home ownership, prioritised for Wandsworth households.”

Juber Ahmad, Sales and Marketing Manager for Wandle Housing Association, said: “Battersea Reach is entering into its penultimate stage, with Wandle delivering 50 shared ownership homes in Meridian House in partnership with St George. Wandle look forward to working with Wandsworth’s home ownership team to deliver these much needed affordable homes for first time buyers.”

Homes for shared ownership in the Riverside Quarter development (pictured left), Eastfields Avenue, SW18, will also be available to purchase on a part-buy, part-rent basis, with existing Wandsworth residents prioritised over buyers from outside the borough.

The new homes will also be managed by Viridian housing association.

Felicity Gentle, Head of Sales and Marketing at Viridian, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer a further 36 homes for shared ownership at Wandsworth Riverside Quarter.

“We know it’s difficult for first-time buyers to get on the property ladder in London but, by working with Wandsworth Council, we are now able to offer these fantastic affordable properties to residents.”
