Metro to open in Hammersmith

Metro Bank are to open a new store in Hammersmith, after some years trying to finds a location in the town centre.

The bank, which aims to differentiate itself on customer service, is aiming at both retail banking for personal accounts, and at the business community. Their blend of longer opening hours, and doing business on Sundays and bank holidays could suit Hammersmith’s business community, and their approach to customer service – they topped the CMA rankings for customer service for the second time this year – could be a real bonus for businesses who need their bank to be there at the time the business wants.

They will occupy 4000 sq ft in the Kings mall shopping centre, taking the former Patisserie Valerie unit, and three others. There should be around 25 new jobs created by the opening. The plan is to open in late 2019, and to mark that occasion with a party that should make King Street more interesting than usual.

Adam Durrant, the local director for Hammersmith at Metro said: “We’re really excited about opening in Hammersmith. There is a real buzz about the town centre, which we think we’re going to complement.

“We’ve been looking to open in the town centre for a number of years, so we’re delighted we’ve finally found an appropriate location.”

Alex Condick, Metro’s local business manager for Hammersmith added: “We have a very strong team going in to Hammersmith, with lots of experience. We’re really looking forward to helping Hammersmith’s local business grow.”

Metro Bank Hammersmith will be open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm on Saturdays, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
