John McDonnell is to enter the labour leadership contest.
The MP for Hayes & Harlington, who retained his seat in the General Election, is an outspoken opponent of the Hesthrow third runway. The Evening Standard reports he is to enter the contest already joined by the Milliband brothers. He previously tried to challenge Gordon Brown’s taking over of the leadership from Tony Blair.
