The Theatre won a £3m DCSF grant recently, and has now published a tender for the new facilities it wants to build in the OJEU.
The project aims to create an education hub linked to the theatre providing courses in the performing arts. The Lyric has directly engaged a design team to undertake feasibility and outline design and to make a town planning submission by September 2009.
They now intend to appoint a multi-disciplinary design team to provide design related services on this development, including architecture, structural engineering, building services engineer, quantity surveying and CDM Co-ordination. The project, which involves building an extension to the Theatre above another building in King's Mall, is targeted to be delivered by autumn 2011.
