Linden fail in Hounslow

Linden Homes’ plans to redevelop a Catholic Seminary in Hounslow have been denied permission by the Council.

LB Hounslow said the lack of family-sized homes and loss of amenity space led to rejection of the Thornbury Road site in Isleworth. Despite the planned retention of Tigar Hall as a community base with an IT suite. Linden’s prior plans has suggested demolition.

Objectors complained about the scale of the development, which had ben reduced from the first set of plans, but not enough to satisfy them.

Councillor Barbara Reid, lead member for environment and planning, congratulated the developers for taking the plans in the “right direction” and said the application was an improvement on previous schemes, but recommended refusal for the encroachment on private land and the mix of housing.

Linden Homes is expected to revise the plans.
