Property Week reports Open TV is in detailed negotiations to take just over 7,000 sq ft on the top floor. They would become the first tenant since Canadian drinks company Seagram, moved out in 2000.
There would still be a lot of space to let in the building – its total floorspace is 165,000 sq ft – but it would be a big boost for the Landid/GE/O&H consotium who took over the building last year. Property Week reports Open TV will pay around £35/sq ft with a rent-free period. The initial quoting rent last year was £45/sq ft.
It is now hoped that the building will let floor by floor, as there is interest from smaller occupiers such as Open TV, who are relocating from Old Street.
