LBHF says no to neighbourhood forum

LB Hammersmith & Fulham has refused to designate St Quintin and Woodlands Neighbourhood Forum.

The application for the St Quintin and Woodlands Neighbourhood Area mainly involves land in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. A small part of it is inside Hammersmith & Fulham.

Following consultation with residents and businesses in and around the area on the proposed neighbourhood forum and neighbourhood area LB Hammersmith & Fulham has resolved to refuse to designate the proposed St Quintin and Woodlands Neighbourhood Forum and to amend the boundaries of the proposed Neighbourhood Area.

The St Helen’s Residents Association in RBKC and Woodlands Area Residents in LBHF applied to both RBKC and LBHF to designate the St Quintin and Woodlands Neighbourhood Forum and to designate an area for neighbourhood planning purposes.

However, Brickfields Area Residents Association, which represents residents in the
LBHF part of the proposed neighbourhood area did not support the designation of the wider neighbourhood area – along with the ward councillors.

LBH&F is required by law to designate at least a part of the proposed area as a neighbourhood area, so it has proposed to designate a smaller area.

Consequently, the proposed St Quintin and Woodlands Neighbourhood Forum will not be designated within LBHF.

RBKC has approved the application for its part of the area.
