Hammersmith & Fulham Council is trying to make it easier for small businesses who want to bid for its contracts.
The council has produced a step-by-step guide to help small and medium size businesses through the tendering process, which can be off-putting and seen labyrynthine. The new guide aims to strip away or explain jargon and cumbersome processes often used in public procurement.
Cllr Robert Iggulden, H&F Council’s Business Champion, said: “The council spends around £250 million on goods, services and works each year. This presents a great opportunity for potential suppliers to do business with the council.
“The council is committed to working with local suppliers and contractors”.
