LBHF launches Enterprise Club

LB Hammersmith & Fulham has launched a club for unemployed people wishing to become self-employed or looking to start a small business in the borough.

The council is working on a number of key areas to help attendees understand how businesses work and encourage the unemployed to improve their skills to create viable new businesses in the borough.

The launch event in November was attended by over 100 people and included talks from business owners about their experience of starting up a small business and provided an opportunity for attendees to hold discussions with a set of established business owners.

Business owners who attended included David Woods and Maddie Anderson who have recently started a company called Memories in Lace and Giacomo La Monaca, who is currently in the process of setting up his own film equipment rental company in West London.

Also present was Paul Kelly, Chairman of the West London Federation of Small Business. Who gave a energised speech, about the starting his business a in Hammersmith and Fulham a few years back with the help of the Enterprise Centre in Shepherds Bush.

The LBHF Enterprise Club will officially start in January 2012.
