Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport is closing today (November 23) after 54 years. It will be replaced by a £1bn Foster + Partners designed building (pictured).
The last passengers checked in to the terminal this morning, with work due to start on the new building in 2010. It is expected to open in 2014. The terminal has handled 316 million passengers since its opening, with 7.5 million passing through last year.
