Quintain Estates & Development has signed Latin American restaurant chain Las Iguanas to its London Designer Outlet in Wembley.
The new Las Iguanas will be the Bristol-based chain’s 30th UK restaurant. It has signed a 20 year lease for 4590 sq ft and is due to open in 2013. It will join T.G.I Friday’s, which signed for 8740 sq ft earlier this year and is now open and trading directly opposite Wembley Stadium.
Quintain has already secured a range of restaurants at London Designer Outlet, including Prezzo and Handmade Burger. The centre, which is split over three levels, will comprise 15 bars and restaurants alongside 85 retail units.
Phil Cottingham, Head of Retail at Quintain, said: “It is great news to have strong brands such as Las Iguanas on board at LDO, and very encouraging that more than a year ahead of the launch T.G.I Friday’s is open and trading very well. These latest deals underline that LDO will be a departure from the traditional outlet centre, with a strong leisure and lifestyle offer alongside the retail. As well as the cinema, bars and restaurants the site boasts a new four-star hotel, and is sandwiched between Wembley Stadium and Arena, so will benefit from a high level of footfall.”
Eren Ali, Managing Director at Las Iguanas said: “LDO will help transform Wembley into one of London’s premier retail and leisure destinations. We’re delighted to have signed up and look forward to introducing our unique menu of fresh Latin food to a new audience next year.”
LDO is the major retail and leisure element of Quintain’s 85-acre regeneration project on the land surrounding Wembley Stadium and Arena. It will be the only designer outlet within the M25 and will be the nearest outlet centre for 5.8 million people.
