Kodak consultation progresses

LandSec say their redevelopment plans for the Kodak factory site in Wealdstone could be a catalyst for the regeneration of the town.

The first part of a consultation has revealed residents see Wealdstone as a “run down”, “shabby” area with poor shops and a problem with crime. Andy Martin, from Land Securities, told the Harrow Times he believes Kodak could be the first step to transforming the town.

He said: “The redevelopment of the Kodak site could be a catalyst in improving things. It can make a big difference by hopefully setting a really high standard for everything else that comes. It’s a big site and you have got to get it right. That’s why the open space is important as well as the buildings.”

The consultation continues with a series of workshops between February 21 and 28.
