Plans for the new Hammersmith & Fulham Town Hall and surroundings have been approved.
A2Dominion’s Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners designed plans will redeliver a cinema lost when the former Cineworld was demolished. They will also deliver a revamped town hall, and 204 homes, along with shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and office space, and a new public square.
The 1930s Grade-II listed town hall will be revived, while the brutalist five-storey 1970s extension will be demolished.
The plans will deliver a four-screen, 350-seat cinema with cafes, shops and restaurants; a public rooftop bar and restaurant, community arts and events spaces; 204 new homes, 52 per cent of which will be affordable; public space in front of the town hall; and office space, including affordable spaces set aside for start-ups.
