King Street inquiry delayed

The Public Inquiry into Helical Bar and Grainger's King Street scheme is delayed, amid reports that the development is on hold.

The inquiry has been deferred to allow site assembly to continue. In particular this is designed to give more time to the negotiations between Helical/Grainger and St James' Investments, which owns the Cinema site.

The reports that the project is 'on hold' are unconfirmed, indeed sources close to the development suggest that progress has simply been slowed by the economy, but that the project continues to move forward.
