King St Development faces St James battle

St James, who own about 20% of the land involved in the Helical Bar/Grainger development at the Western end of King Street are questioning the Council’s decision to award the partnership the £100m scheme. They have asked to see the Council’s scoring criteria, according to Property Week.

Concillor Mark Loveday was robust on the subject, “Our experts, who have spent months analysing complex data, believe that the Grainger and Helical Bar scheme is the best, economically and aesthetically”.

Grainger and Helical Bar say they will work with the council to buy out third-party landowners and plan to submit a planning application around October.
