Inland plans for Minet Gardens approved

Inland Homes’ plans for Minet Gardens in Hayes have been approved.

The plans involve putting 65 homes on the disused plot of land off Minet Drive. This follows the rejection of two previous applications for the site prior to 2009.

The land has been used as open land for recreational purposes, so Inland will be providing new football pitches on nearby St Mary’s Fields as part of an agreement with the council.

The original application was for 100 houses. The council refused planning permission for this application because it was concerned about the density of the housing and the effect on the locality. Inland then re-submitted their application, reducing their plans to 65 homes. These plans were approved by the council’s Central and South Planning Committee.

Cllr John Hensley, Chair of the committee, said: “Although there is great demand for housing in the borough, we will not sacrifice our residents’ quality of life by allowing developments where the intensity of housing is too high.”
