Imperial Wharf Station on the West London Line is on schedule to open in September. Transport for London (TfL) has included it on its Autumn timetable.
It is understood that developers St George are planning to handover the brand new station to Network Rail in early September. The new station will open next to the St George development, and opens up an area previously reliant on bus services.
Imperial Wharf station will be make the lives of thousands of commuters in Fulham and Chelsea much easier, says Council Leader, Cllr Stephen Greenhalgh. An area that has historically had very poor transport links will now be very well connected.
Three trains will run in each direction every hour and the station will allow residents much easier access to the Underground at West Brompton as well as linking Imperial Wharf to Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction.
Imperial Wharf Park is also expected to formally open next month. To the west of Imperial Wharf’s existing sensory gardens, the park links Townmead Road and the riverwalk and includes a children’s playground and boating pond.
