Jackie Sadek, Chair of BURA, and Head of Regeneration at CBRE, left the Park Royal Partnership (PRP) some time ago now, but she still supports the development of the area. Recently, according to her Estates Gazette Blog, Jackie was sorry to learn that PRP is facing a crisis as the LDA withdraws funding. She says she "Cannot help but feel that this may be a false economy in these troubled times".
She reminds us that Park Royal it is the largest industrial estate in Europe with 2,000 companies employing 40,000 people – and that it is very precious indeed to the UK economy. She also points out sagely that:"as it straddles three London boroughs and has no votes, it has nobody looking out for it".
She believes there is the potential for at least another 10,000 jobs to be generated on the estate, and that more investment is required, not less.
"We take the Park Royal estate for granted. And we do so at our peril", she concludes. Let's hope someone's listening.
