Land Securities have agreed to let the hotel element of their redvelopment at the West12 shopping centre in Shepherds Bush to Ibis.
The 128 bed has been pre-let to Accor for an Ibis Hotel. The scheme is due for completion in March 2012. LandSec say that along with recent key lettings in the centre and the refurbishment of the units at street level, the property is ideally placed to benefit from the Westfield London area regeneration.
The new look for the centre is attracting new brands to its retail offer as development takes place at Shepherd’s Bush, London, say LandSec.
The work is delivering a new four-storey hotel and a refurbishment of the ‘front of house’ shops on the Shepherd’s Bush Green. The ibis hotel, part of the Accor family, is being developed within a former office block and will have a contemporary design, including a bar.
The hotel is to open in summer this year and will be one of the first UK openings to bear the new ibis branding. Foxtons and Esquires Coffee are also joining the scheme and will be situated in the line of shops on the ‘Green’.
Land Securities’ Portfolio Manager for West12 Andrew Rawlings said: “This major revamp is an exciting time for West12 as it continues to establish its attractive proposition as a venue in its own right.
“The shopping and leisure centre is going from strength to strength as we’re already seeing a positive impact on shopper numbers which also happened following the opening of Westfield London.”
